Are You All In?
Baseball Season is Here!
I am excited for this season to begin as someone who grew up a White Sox fan and still a White Sox fan!
It is an exciting year to be a White Sox fan as they have made some roster moves and spent millions of $ to go “All In” for a run at the World Series again. Loved this commercial that they put together campaigning for fans to show up at games because now they need $ to pay for these players. It is a Great campaign of “All In”
Got me to thinking…how does this relate to our relationship with God. Are we “All In”?
In Matthew 22:36-40
36 “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”
37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’[e] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[f] 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
It makes it pretty clear here that Jesus is saying that He wants our full commitment. He wants us “All In“. Does this mean make sure I come to church every week? Give $ to the church every week? Serve in the church? The list can go on and on and I believe those actions will be a result of those who do commit their life and go “All In“. But it is a question that we should remind ourselves each day as we approach the activities and daily agendas we have…if we say we are a follower of Christ, are we living in such a way that we are ALL IN?
By the way….Go White Sox!
